The Accommodation Office is open next Tuesday, the 7th of October,  from 9 am until 11 am

On Tuesday the 7th of October PSOAS accommodation office will be closed at 11 am due to an internal planning day. The property supervisors will be in the office and can be contacted via phone as usual.

On Wednesday the 8th the office will be open as usual. We apologize for any inconvenience the exceptional opening hours might cause.

Changes in PSOAS property maintenance and cleaning have taken place. From the beginning of October property maintenance in the southern part of the town is being taken care of by Alltime Oy and cleaning by Lassila & Tikanoja Oyj. In the northern part RTK-Palvelu Oy will continue on property maintenance, but the responsibility for cleaning passes over to SOL Palvelut Oy. At the same time a few locations will be moved from the southern district to the northern. To see the new districts click here.

The renovation of Domus Botnica is completed and the tenants may move in to the brand new Domus Botnica. In the eight story building is altogether 32 apartments: 2 studios, 14 two-room apartments and 16 three-room shared apartments. In the shared apartments all tenants have their own toilet and shower and a shared kitchen. In the new two story building is 16 studios and 4 two-room apartments.

Domus Botnica is located on a beautiful place close to the city center. Domus Botnica  was built in 1958 and was the first student accommodation house in Oulu.

Thousands of new students have started or will soon start their studies in their new home town Oulu. Many of them have found their new home at PSOAS since over a thousand new leases have been signed before the new academic term. We would like to welcome all of you to Oulu and to live at PSOAS!

In April we conducted the annual tenant satisfaction survey. Altogether 1358 tenants took part in the survey which results in a response rate of 35%. We would like to thank all the respondents for their contribution!

Tenants’ views about PSOAS housing services were rather similar to those collected in the previous years. The small changes that could be pointed out were mostly positive. The area where tenants’ views had improved the most was maintenance and cleaning services. Also in property supervision the direction of the small steps taken was for the better. The performance of customer service had remained on the same good level as during the last couple of years. Phone service was, however, still performing a bit poorer than other areas of customer service. Measures have already been taken to improve in this field and, hopefully, tenants’ perceived service quality will increase.

CampusNet service was still scoring high in tenant satisfaction, but the excellent level of last year could not quite be reached. During the last twelve months the overall traffic in the network has increased heavily and this has affected the network performance, especially in the spring. Capacity of the network has already been increased to react to this challenge and surfing the web should now be faster and more convenient.
