6.8.2013 Apartments are still being offered
Offering process for leases beginning in September is still going on and new offers are sent every day. The last chance to find an apartment through PSOAS will be on Monday the 26th of August when cancellation opportunities are available. If you are still looking for an apartment on that day, call the accommodation office on +358 8 3173110 at 8 am and ask for cancellation opportunities.
3.7.2013 Välkkylä yard work
The massive repairs of the yard have proceeded and the parking situation changes.
Since Wednesday 3.7. you are able to park on
- Kajaanintie 32 parking area where you have to drive from Kajaanintie.
- Kajaanintie 40, behind the house where the new parking area is.
NOTE: you have to drive there through Villentalo parking area.
The parking areas are uncoated and unmarked. When parking pay attention to the maintenance traffic.
We will inform the tenantis in OmaPSOAS when the work continues.
Ylioppilaantie 8 parking area is still closed.
27.6.2013 Parking places in Välkkylä
The parking places in front of Kajaanintie 32 and those between Kajaanintie 38 – 40 are now out of use due to the yard renovation. The spots in question are 1-53.
Also the parking places, in front of Ylioppilaantie 8 are now out of use, numbers 98-123.
If you now need a parking place, please check the availability from OmaPSOAS.
All parking places will be taken back to use as soon as working on them has been completed. The status will be kept up-to-date in OmaPSOAS.
We will inform you about changes in parking as they come up.
20.6.2013 Parking places in Välkkylä
Due to extensive repair work in the yard we have to forbid parking in some parts of the yard area.
On Monday the 24th of June at 7 am the traffic from Kajaanintie is closed as well as the traffic through Välkkylä as far as the day-care centre.
All parking places in front of Kajaanintie 32 and 34 and between Kajaanintie 38 and 40 are out of use.
Unfortunately, the duration of the repair work cannot be estimated, but we inform you as soon as the parking places can be used again.
Please note, that if the cars are not moved away by the 24th of June they have to be towed away.

28.5.2013 The results of PSOAS tenant satisfaction survey
In April the annual PSOAS tenant satisfaction survey was conducted again. The survey was carried out using the ZEF Solutions online questionnaire and it received as many as 1500 responses. We would like to thank all the respondents for being active!
In the survey the questions asked were divided into six different categories: customer service, property management, property maintenance and cleaning, side services during tenancy, apartments and living environment (neighborhood). Based on the data collected tenants’ views on most of the areas covered were more positive than earlier. The biggest leaps forward had been taken in the areas of property management, maintenance and cleaning. Some sections were even graded substantially higher than before. In property management especially the friendliness and ability to serve had improved. In maintenance the difficult area of snow clearing was graded a lot higher than before even though it still received also some negative feedback in the open comments. The maintenance personnel’s ability to serve was seen as better than in the previous years. In the open comments the apartment range, apartments’ locations and rent competitiveness were appraised as well.
On the basis of grades given sauna turns and phone service were the areas which the tenants think need to be developed the most. For sauna turns there were a variety of different wishes which seems to be a result from the fact that saunas and their reservation practices are very different from one location to another. Any ideas on sauna turns can be brought into discussion through the local tenant committee which has a say on how the turns are arranged. As for telephone service, longer queue times during the rush hours were the main topic in most open comments. We will do our best to improve our performance in that field. Open comments also indicate that waste management and cleaning up saunas and laundry rooms are issues that we need to concentrate on and that’s what we will do.
We would like to thank all our tenants for the feedback received and will take measures to improve on the services that need developing. A gift voucher to Verkkokauppa was raffled for one of the respondents and Leevi Mäkituomas was the lucky winner. PSOAS congratulate!

19.3.2013 E2Rebuild seminar in Oulu 20-21.3
E2ReBuild is a European collaborative project, researching and demonstrating industrialised energy efficient retrofitting of residential buildings in cold climates. In this project there are partners from 20 European countries. There are 7 demonstration buildings of which Virkakatu 8 A-B is one. Tenants have moved in to Virkakatu 8 A-B the 1st of March 2013. On the 20th and 21st of Mach there is a seminar in Oulu regarding to this project in which participates about 30 persons from different countries. In the afternoon on Wednesday the 20th of March we will visit Virkakatu 8 A-B and also the houses not yet renovated in Virkakatu 8.
